SOMETHING TO DO...
NEWS FOR THE WEEK...
Your child should have brought home a brown paper lunch bag attached to their newsletter and December Snack Calendar. Please have your child place one item inside the bag to represent something that he or she is thankful for. They can get creative with this! For instance, your child might want to say that he or she is thankful for their dog. Inside the bag they could put a picture of their dog, or even a small toy dog. If they are thankful for their house they can draw a picture of their house. The only real rule is that it must fit completely inside the bag. Students will share their bags on TUESDAY with the class.
ECONOMICS UNIT
Beginning December 1st all first graders will participate in a “Token Economy” as part of our economics unit. Students will earn tickets each day for various tasks (being in class on time, remembering library books or tennis shoes, helping a classmate) but they may also have to “pay” for things (not putting name on paper, forgetting to sign in on the lunch count, etc) as well! Just before Winter Break, students will have the opportunity to purchase things from our class store with the tickets they have earned! Watch for more information on this exciting unit to come home soon!
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Looking for something to do tonight? Don’t forget that Willard East is showing Maleficent tonight beginning at 6:30! Popcorn will be provided {FREE} with drinks and candy bars for sale {$1 each}. Bring your chairs, pillows, and blankets and enjoy the movie!
MR. TALLBIRD
Sadly, our friend Mr. Tallbird had a family emergency and had to go out of town. We are working with him to reschedule a visit. He is such an amazing resource and has so many valuable things to share!
