Grade cards came home today. Please remember the circle on the left represents the percentage of standards mastered by your child during the 2nd quarter. Also, please remember that many of the standards spiral, or repeat through the year. One final thing to consider, we only give the DRA (reading assessment) twice a year - so many of the standards in reading (ELA) have not yet been re-assessed since first quarter. Please pay special attention to your child's current reading level. You will find this information on the right side of the grade card.
As always, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have specific questions or concerns.

THINGS TO HELP YOUR CHILD WITH
We have two new math concepts that we will be starting very soon. Next week, we will begin working on telling time to the hour and to the half hour. Some students grasp this concept right away, while others need more practice. I encourage you to practice time to the half hour with your child.
Very soon we will begin Subtraction Rocketmath. We will continue doing addition as well, however, more students find the subtraction to be more challenging. I am happy to send home Rocketmath pages with your child to practice at home. Please let me know if you are interested.
