FIRST THINGS FIRST...
More good news... I feel like I gave a hundred assessments this week, which I never look forward too. However, as I have been looking over them and starting to grade them it makes me smile. We have come so far. I always get so sad during this time of year. Maybe I should sentimental instead of sad. It is just so hard to think about letting go of this little family that we have built inside our classroom walls.
The next few weeks are going to be busy. Like CRAZY busy. I may need to send additional emails and blogs but I will do my best to keep everyone informed of all the special events.
The First Grade team always ends the year with a May countdown of fun days. We already had this planned before we knew that there were Spirit / Dress Up Days for next week. Feel free to have your child participate in either or even both. I will leave the decision up to you.
SCHOOL-WIDE SPIRIT DAYS FOR NEXT WEEK:
Monday - Take a day to relax - PJ Day
Tuesday - Teachers Rock - Rockstar Day
Wednesday - Wacky / mismatched Day
Thursday - Keep us in shape / Field Day
Friday - Tiger Spirit Day
FIRST GRADE COUNTDOWN DAYS
Monday - Hat Day
Tuesday - Popcorn party
Wednesday - Stuffed Animal Day (needs to fit in backpack, please)
Thursday - Field Day
Friday - Read Outside
NEED TO BRING A BOX
Ms. Mathers, our art teacher, has requested that each child bring a small shoebox or plastic container (cool whip, yogurt, butter, etc) to help transport a project home.
Your student needs to bring their container, labeled with his or her name, by next Tuesday. THANK YOU!
FIELD DAY THURSDAY
I cannot wait for Field Day and I know the kids can’t either.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
* Send students in “play” clothes and tennis shoes.
They will most likely get very wet and possibly muddy.
* Send an entire set of dry clothes for your child to change into after we finish. The will most likely be dripping wet.
* Put dry clothes in a plastic bag so that your child can put their wet
clothes inside it to bring home.
* Send a water bottle!
