I just wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I truly love having your child in my classroom. My students make me laugh and I miss them when I don’t see them! I am so incredibly grateful that I get to share this year with them (and YOU!) I hope that your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
IT WAS FANTASTIC!
We had the best time on our field trip this week! I was blow away by the amazing questions that my students asked and was so happy with the way they behaved. If you were able to capture any great pictures, I would love to be able to share them with other parents. Please email them to me and I will select some to put on our blog. ([email protected])
MATH TEST
We will be taking our Unit 4 math test right after Thanksgiving break. This will include:
* Addition and subtraction story problems
* True or false equations (10=4+5 True or False)
* Balancing equations (2+6+4=10+____)
* Find the missing number (13-____=10)
Our test is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st.
I have also attached a True or False page that you are welcome to use as practice with your child.
NON-FICTION WRITING
After Thanksgiving we will be writing new non-fiction books and each student will be picking his or her own topic. We will brainstorm a list of ideas together as a class but it will be up to each student to decide which topic they would like to write about. I am sending home a notes sheet. If your student would like to look up some information (with your help) they are absolutely welcome to do this and then use the information to help them with their writing. If your child decides to look up and record any information, they will want to bring their notes back to school with them on Monday, November 30th.
