SO MUCH NEWS THIS WEEK!!!
This fundraiser is going to be a little different this year! Instead of competing against other classes in our own grade level, all of 1st grade will be working TOGETHER to raise more money than the other grade levels. The rules are simple! Collect and send in coins. Let’s see how much money we can raise!
READING WEEK
Monday—Hat Day
Tuesday—PJ Day
Wednesday—Book Character Day
Thursday—70s Day
Friday—Tiger Wear
FAMILY READING NIGHT
Please join us on Thursday, February 4th for Family Reading Night! The fun begins at 6:30 and will wrap up at 7:30. The Book Fair will also be open in the Library!
BOOK FAIR
The Book Fair will be open all of next week. We will visit the Book Fair as a class on Friday during our regular library time. You are also welcome to bring your child before school (Tuesday– Friday) or after school (Monday—Thursday).
VALENTINE’S DAY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Our Valentine’s Day Party will be different than our other parties this year. Instead of a party we will be enjoying pizza in the classroom and passing out / opening our Valentine’s Day cards. We will begin at 11:00. We are asking that each child brings $2.00 to help cover the cost of pizza. Please send money by Wednesday, February 10th.
Your student will also need a decorated box or a bag to hold their Valentines. I will send home a class list so that your child can write cards to each student in our classroom. Please send your child’s cards in a separate zip-lock or bag rubber banded together (not inside their decorated box / bag). This will keep the cards that they brought to pass out from getting mixed in with the cards that they will receive.
PRACTICUM STUDENT
We will be welcoming Ms. Weatherly into our classroom as she completes a practicum for Evangel University! She will be in our classrooms on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to help and observe during our math time. Ms. Weatherly will start next week.
***SNACK CALENDAR MISTAKE!!!***
TWO February snack calendars came home this week. I originally put a helper on Monday, February 15th because I assumed we would use that day as a snow day make up. SCHOOL WILL NOT BE IN SESSION ON THE 15th, so I sent home an updated snack calendar. Sorry for any confusion!

MRS. KRAMER ABSENT
I will be gone on Monday, February 8 and Tuesday, February 9th to a conference in St. Louis called METC. I am very excited about this opportunity, as I have heard amazing things about it from other years. Mrs. Davault will be my substitute for both days. I feel so great about having her in my classroom. I know that my students enjoyed having her as a substitute last week!
