Today Principal Miller came to our classroom and read The Christmas Cookie Sprinkle Snitcher by Robert Kraus. After sharing this adorable story she left our class with sprinkled sugar cookies that we got to eat. Here is a little peak at the students while listening to Principal Miller read.

Explanatory Writing Project Yesterday we completed our very first "how to" project. First, we watched a short video clip on blowing bubbles. Second, we tested out the theory. Next, we wrote our own directions. Finally, we completed an art project to go along with our writing. We had SO much fun doing this project. I enjoyed teaching this lesson and the kids enjoyed writing (not to mention chewing bubble gum in class!) If you are in the building, make sure to check out the awesome work that the class did! SPELLING LIST
look, looks, looking, sing, sings, singing WELCOME FRANK! We would like to welcome our new student, Frank, to our classroom! We are very excited to have him join us. Please note that our class size is now 22 students. HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE Our class is responsible for bringing Ravioli and Spaghettios. The food drive runs from December 5-December 9th. MARK YOUR CALENDARS… Our winter party will be the morning of December 21st. This is a half day so we will celebrate with breakfast in our classroom. Look for more details to come home soon! ECONOMICS NEEDS As part of our economic unit we will have a class store just before winter break. You can help by sending in any unwanted kids meal style toys, art / school supplies, play dough, stickers or gently used books. This is a great unit that teaches many different areas of economics including supply & demand, needs & wants, scarcity, counting money and goods & services. SPECIAL GUESTS On Friday, the first grade teachers from Sparta Elementary school will be observing the Daily Five in our classroom. This is a huge compliment for our building as well as the district. Please encourage your child to be on his or her very best behavior. * This was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was moved due to the weather. |
