I must say, I was NOT expecting that at all - but I enjoyed spending some extra time with my daughter!
This week we talked about dental health and our teeth. We read some great books about teeth including What Do the Fairies Do With All Those Teeth, Tabitha's Terrifically Tough Tooth, and Andrew's Loose Tooth. This is a pretty easy subject for first grades to connect to because many of them have lost a tooth, while the others anxiously await the arrival of their
first loose tooth!
In math we started a new unit on measuring. This is a really fun (and very hands on) unit and always one of my favorite to teach! We just got started - so there is a lot of fun still to come with this unit!
Reminders and Important Information
School WILL be in session Friday, February 13th to make up for our missed day this week. Monday, February 16th will be a teacher workday but students will be out.
VALENTINE’S DAY REMINDERS
We will be eating pizza in the classroom for Valentine’s Day on Thursday at 11:15.
Every child will need something to hold their Valentine cards. This can be a decorated box or even a bag. If your child plans to pass out cards, please have them bring their cards in either a ziplock bag or any type of disposable plastic bag. This will really help avoid getting cards mixed up as they are passing out and receiving cards.
