MRS. KRAMER ABSENT
I will be at a conference in Springfield on Wednesday. Mrs. Young will be my substitute. Please call the office if you need to get a message to your child.

The book fair started today and will be open though next week! Our scheduled time to go will be on Wednesday during our library time. Book Fair money needs to come to school in an envelope or bag marked with the following:

I did not get the newsletter sent home on Friday before the kids left. I had it copied and everything but in the hustle of the party, I forgot to actually pass them out. It will come home with your child on Monday.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Family Reading Night is just around the corner! We have been reading Charlotte’s Web in class and I know many of you are reading it together as a family at home. Make sure to mark your calendar for  the evening of March 6th when we will host our annual Family Reading Night.
Dinner will be available to purchase in the gym at 5:30 with the activities starting at 6:00. This is always a fun night and we hope to see you there!

Ask your child about…student interviews, reading and writing biographies, addition and subtraction story problems, and our Valentine’s Day party!

ANOTHER SHORT WEEK...

This winter has been BRUTAL! I don't know about you, but I am very ready for some sunshine and warmer weather. Keeping my fingers crossed that we can get a full week of school in next week!

This week was packed full because we tried hard to squeeze as much as possible into the three days that we had together. I am very sad that we missed Digital Learning Day on Wednesday. We were supposed to Skype with my dentist, Dr. Tyler Buzbee, at Buzbee Dental. He was going to show us around an exam room, introduce us to some of the tools he uses, tell us what a visit would look like and of course answer any questions that we still had for him. Isn't it amazing that we could do all of that while sitting in our classroom?!?! Technology is wonderful! Dr. Tyler and I will try to reschedule our Skype session for another day sometime in the future.

Not only did we learn about dental health this week but we also spent some time getting to know our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. We learned about how President Lincoln was a lawyer and also how he kept important papers in his hat so he did not lose them. Check out these super cute Abe Lincoln's hat activities that we did!

VALENTINE’S DAY
First… thank you SO much to everyone who signed up to help bring supplies for our special snack! I was so surprised to see everything spoken for when I check to see what was left!
Reminders… All students will need to bring something to hold all of the cards they receive. This can be a traditional Valentine’s box, a basket, gift bag—really anything that will hold 22+ cards and candy! Remember, it is very helpful if the cards that your child plans to pass out are in a separate ziplock bag or large envelope.

Ask your child about…contractions, caring for our teeth, Abraham Lincoln, and our money wars!
