Thank you so much for your flexibility and patience during a hectic couple of weeks.
We had a great week this week, including our fabulous field trip to Springfield Little Theater. The play was adorable and the students seemed to love it! I was very pleased with their behavior during the play, on the bus, and at the park!
We ended the week with a fantastic Friday! We learned about force, friction, and motion by doing a Hot Wheels STEM project. Students first predicted which surface the car would travel the farthest on using the same about of force.
Then, students worked in teams to create a ramp that would allow their car to travel the greatest distance. We had a BLAST "playing" and learning together!!!
News for the Week
The first graders have been invited to walk to the Middle School on Thursday to be judges at a Food Wars competition. We will be trying out some student-created healthy snacks and voting for our favorites. We will leave right after P.E. on Thursday and return around 2:45.
GOODBYE MS. PEPER & MS. WEATHERLY
We will say goodbye to our wonderful practicum students from Evangel next week. These ladies have spent the mornings and afternoons in our classroom this semester and helped us so much. Thursday will be their last day at Willard East.
ADDITION WITH REGROUPING
We have been working up to addition with regrouping (carrying) for several weeks and we finally started working on it yesterday. Most of the students did really well with this concept. I sent home a practice page so that your child can continue to work on this skill at home. We will continue to work on this next week in class as well.
