This week we have been reading various books about winter and snow, including There Was a COLD Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow, The Lemon Sisters, and Willow and the Snow Day Dance. Obviously, we had to participate in our own snow day dance after reading about Willow's success. Guess we will find out tomorrow if we had any luck! If you have never read this book, I highly recommend it. ADORABLE!!!
The first grade students will be having their musical on March 1st. They will be doing a rendition of The Little Red Hen. There will be an afternoon performance / dress rehearsal for the school (at 2:30) and an evening performance (7:00 PM) for families. Please watch for more details to come home soon!
FAMILY READING NIGHT
Mark your calendars for a night of family fun at Willard East Family Reading Night! We hope to see you on February 4th beginning at 6:30 PM. This is a come and go style event. The Book Fair will also be open in the library during the evening.
GET YOUR CHANGE READY
Willard East will be holding our annual Change-a-life coin drive the first week of February. Start gathering your coins now to get a head start! All silver coins will be used as NEGATIVE points to put in the banks of other classrooms. Pennies and bills will count as positive points for our own class. This is always so much fun for our students.
MS. MATHERS REQUEST
The art teacher, Ms. Mathers, is looking for some small branches (no thicker than an inch in diameter). These can be any length. If you happen to have any in your yard and would like to get rid of them, she will happily take them off of your hands! These can be sent in anytime between now and the end of February. THANK YOU!
