We have been SO busy reading and writing non-fiction teaching books. We wrote some class books together this week about pumpkins and during Daily 5 I am seeing some AMAZING non-fiction books. We seem to have a lot of interest in Paris and Rome (but seriously, can we blame them?!?!?) and the pictures I am seeing of the Eiffel Tower are fantastic! Oh la la!
In math we have been working super hard on our addition strategies. I can't believe that we will be wrapping up Topic 3 next week! We will complete our practice test in class next Thursday, before the long weekend. The test will be after we return to school on the 9th. Your child will bring home their practice test next Thursday. It is extremely similar to the actual test so feel free to use it as a study guide with your child if you would like!
ART FUNDRAISERS ARE DUE MONDAY!
CONFERENCES NEXT WEEK
Don’t forget, Parent– Teacher Conferences are next week!
I will do my absolute best to run on schedule. You can help by arriving a few minutes before your scheduled time. Student work will be displayed in the hallway for you to look at while you wait. I will also put a basket of “brag tags” and some markers outside my door. Feel free to write your student a note and it leave it at his or her chair before you leave.
NO SCHOOL NOV 4-8
Just a reminder… school will not be in session November 4—8th.
