We also worked super hard writing our own non-fiction teaching book about pumpkins! Be on the lookout for this to come home next week. I was super impressed with how hard my authors worked this week!
DON’T FORGET
School will not be in session tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday! Also, just a reminder to turn your clocks back on Saturday evening for Dailylight Savings!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Our Thursday, November 19th we will be going on a field trip to Fantastic Caverns. The cost per student is $8.00. Parents are welcome to join us this year (have not been able in past years) but the cost for adults is $17.50. A permission slip with more details will come home in the near future.
READING LOGS
A new month has arrived! Don’t forget that I would like each child to turn in at least one reading log each month. A new log came home with your child this week but feel free to write these down on anything. You are also welcome to email me a list if it is easier!

TURKEY PROJECT HOMEWORK!
You might remember this project from last year (if your child went to school at Willard East) but it is one of my absolute favorite projects of the year! A paper turkey came home with your child today with directions attached. Your child's job is to disguise his or her turkey so that nobody will eat him for Thanksgiving!
There are a few things to keep in mind:
* The turkey should be count out, but not mounted onto anything large like wood or posterboard.
* Please make sure to include your child's name somewhere - the back is fine!
* Be as creative as you would like. This is a very popular project so check Pinterest and Google for some ideas! You can see below for some examples from last year.
* HAVE FUN!!!
These are due back by Friday, November 13th. I know they are coming home a little early but I wanted to make sure your child had plenty of time to work on this. Feel free to go ahead and send it back whenever they have it finished! We will use these to go with a writing project that we will do a little closer to Thanksgiving.
