I hope that you had a chance to read your child's published book at Open House! My students worked SO hard on these and were super excited to show them off. These are going to spend a little time in our classroom library and then your child will bring his or her book
home soon after.
This week we did our first STEM project of the year. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Most of the projects that we do will be completed in small groups or with a partner. Sometimes we may even join together with another class to do a STEM project.
This week my students were given a 9 x12 piece of paper and tape. Their challenge was to build the longest paper chain they could using only the materials provided. I saw so much great teamwork during this challenge. The students really came together and created some fantastic chains!
